“This is our 40th anniversary celebration and we wanted to make sure, we wanted to share it with all our fans and allow them to be a part of — this is absolutely a milestone," Johnny told D2thaC. “So what better place to celebrate than to go across the country and allow our fans to be part of this huge celebration."
“We just ready to get it on,” Johnny continued, “we got our friends Keith Sweat and Guy and Tank. We just wanted to make sure it was gonna be a night to remember for everybody.”
Aside from celebrating the groups 40 years together by venturing all across the U.S., JG is also looking forward to using that time to sample some local eateries, noting that “steakhouses have always been” his thing, though he’s currently “watching his intake… trying to eat a little cleaner.”
Apart from making sure his bodily instrument is fine tuned, Johnny noted that when it comes to performing “atmosphere and vibe is so important… you want people to be good and people to have great energy… because no matter what we do, and how much we rehearse or how much we perform, something about when the audience is just giving that energy it takes everything to a complete different level that we can’t manufacture, it’s just this magical thing that happens.”
