The queen of comedy, Sommore dropped by St. Louis’ Work and Play with Shae Bae to talk about her new comedy special, tour and much more!

The Royal Comedy tour kicked off in early January and is on the road to hit 30 different cities. With a set full of headliners like Special K, Lavell Crawford, Bruce Bruce and of course Sommore.
She encourages fans to come out and see the show because like “the world is ever-evolving, our jokes are ever-evolving” and that is what makes their show a must-see.
Being the only woman on this tour, Sommore shared that “it’s a lot of pressure,” saying that “you got to represent from the outfit all the way to the jokes.”
Her newest comedy special, Queen Chandelier, just dropped on Netflix and she explained that a lot of the material she performed for the special was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic. “I was talking about what I actually was experiencing” she said, “it was some dark, depressing times.”
