The 49ers have reportedly added a one-time Pro Bowler to their secondary in the form of Jason Verrett, per ESPN's Adam Schefter:

The corner, a 2014 first-round pick and Fairfield native, was a Pro Bowler for the then San Diego Chargers in 2015. The complication is that Verrett has played in just one game in the past two seasons due to knee injuries. He missed all of last season when he tore his ACL last July.

Verrett was about as good as it gets back in 2015:

Jason Verrett's fully-healthy season in 2015 was by far the best in his career as he was the second highest-graded cornerback with an 88.4 overall grade that year. https://t.co/dlQz94Gfdn

Verrett would be obvious pick to start opposite Richard Sherman, if he can stay healthy — unlike the previous two seasons.
