Marshawn Lynch is leaving behind football, for the second time, according to ESPN’s
Adam Schefter.
With the draft looming on Thursday, Schefter tweeted that the Oakland native “is not planning to play football again.” Lynch, who spent the past two seasons in the Raider backfield, piling up 1,267 yards on 297 carries, originally retired during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 50 in February 2016. On that occasion, Lynch fired off a tweet with a picture of his cleats and a “peace out” emoji.
The phrasing of Schefter's report, especially the "planning to" part, leaves room for equivocation. Later in the day, Lynch's mother, Delisa, appears to have contradicted Schefter's report, via her Twitter account:

April 24, 2019 If Lynch is exiting, the Raiders pre-draft running back room would consist of Isaiah Crowell, Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Chris Warren.
