Woj: Klay could consider Clippers, not Lakers, if Warriors don’t offer the max

Just a few days after Mychal Thompson told 95.7 The Game that “everything will fall into place” regarding his son’s future should the Warriors secure a fourth title, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has dished a new report on Klay Thompson.

Woj, the prememient scoop trafficker on planet basketball addressed Thompson’s free-agent future, which arrives this summer, in an appearance on “Get Up.”

"If they come with a five-year, $190 million max deal for Klay Thompson, that's done on July 1 — he's going into the new building with Steph Curry," Wojnarowski explained. "If they try to do anything less than that, you can expect Klay Thompson to be out in free agency. Watch not for the Lakers then, but the Clippers."

The latest report echoes a nugget from January when Woj was on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt, suggesting that Thompson would turn his attention to the Lakers should the Warriors not offer a max. The parallel reports leave one to wonder if they are not some indirect effort from the Thompson camp to underscore the point that it's max or bust for the Splash Brother.
Woj also offered the following line, which is worth watching…
