If Klay Thompson’s left knee cooperates, the sharp-shooting guard is aiming to join Stephen Curry (and assistant coach Steve Kerr) on next summer’s Olympic squad.
Unlike Curry, who missed out on the 2016 games with a knee injury of his own, Thompson already owns a gold medal, secured during those Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Thompson underwent surgery on July 2, after sustaining the injury in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. The Warrior is looking at a six to nine month recovery.
