NBA postpones Draft Lottery, Combine amid COVID-19 pandemic

The NBA Draft Lottery scheduled for May 19 and the NBA Draft Combine (May 21-24) have been postponed indefinitely, the league announced Friday.

The NBA has indefinitely postponed its NBA Draft Lottery and Draft Combine in May in Chicago due to coronavirus pandemic, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

The Warriors virtually are guaranteed a top-five pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but the postponement is no surprise to the Warriors organization.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that this was voted on in a conference call today by the NBA's Board of Governors.

The NBA's Board of Governors voted on those items in a conference call today, but held off on formally pushing back the June 25 Draft date -- although sources still expect that will eventually be done.

This could mean that the NBA hopes to restart the 2019-20 season with regular-season games.
