Kyler Murray, Hesiman Trophy winner and Oakland A's super prospect, took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to announce his intentions to enter the NFL draft.
I have declared for the NFL Draft.

Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, who has been all over the Murray story, details what the tweet really means:
As A's expected, Kyler Murray declares for NFL draft. From a baseball standpoint, this is procedural only and doesn't change anything unless he puts out a statement or announces he is choosing one sport over the other. A's/MLB issue would be if he left camp for the combine.
— Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) January 14, 2019On Sunday, Slusser reported that the A's are aiming to put together a "creative" plan to keep Murray in the fold:
I am told that $15 million figure being cited as Murray's request to A's is inaccurate (the figure is too high, source says), but the A's and Murray's representatives are working on trying something creative to accommodate him, thus today's meeting. MLB would have to OK.
— Susan Slusser (@susanslusser) January 13, 2019Then ESPN's Adam Schefter, premier NFL scoopster, dropped the following nugget:
Kyler Murray still can play baseball, if he wants. But he is determined to play football. https://t.co/vwTxiPvlsV
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 14, 2019Determined. Hmm. Stay tuned.
