The day after a report that the San Francisco Giants were preparing a “lucrative short term deal” for Bryce Harper, Jon Heyman of MLB Network tweeted that such an offer is unlikely to find success.
Despite rumored offers/wishes of teams, word is Bryce Harper is not signing — or even considering — short-term deals.

The question is just what exactly qualifies as short term? Either way, the latest news would appear to be emanating from Harper’s camp, in an effort to gain some leverage in a market that has not smiled on big-name free agents.
On Monday, one oddsmaker identified the Giants as the leading landing spot for Harper.
