The dream of the 49ers wearing white on white in Miami is, reportedly, dead.

The scoop comes from one Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area who wrote on Monday morning that the Niners are set to done white jerseys and gold pants when they meet the Chiefs on Feb. 2 in Super Bowl 54.
After the 49ers handled the Packers, 37-20, to punch their ticket, there was an ephemeral hope that the kings of NFC would trot out the all-white look:

Some news: The 49ers will make a push to wear their all-white ‘94 throwback uniforms in the Super Bowl at Miami. The problem, Richard Sherman tells me, is that the NFL currently won’t allow it. The 49ers got an exception to wear these unis Week 17 at Seattle; would like one again

For those who keep track of this sort of thing, it's worth noting that the 49ers won the last two Super Bowls in which they were wearing the white and gold combo.
