‘I’m always against it’ — Boone wants no part of Jalen Ramsey on the 49ers

Even in the wake of Ahkello Witherspoon’s right-foot sprain, which will keep the cornerback out for at least a month, Alex Boone doesn’t see an opening for the 49ers to swing a trade for the disgruntled Jalen Ramsey.

“I’m always against it,” Boone said in a Tuesday morning appearance with “Joe, Lo & DIbs” on 95.7 The Game (jump to the 2:27 mark in the pod above).

Ramsey called in sick to work on Monday, amid his efforts to get traded out of Jacksonville.

“And I’m against it because when you have people that are making a lot of distractions when they should just be worried about winning and bringing up a young quarterback and helping a team," Boone continued.

“Because, listen, we’re three weeks into this season and (he’s) already saying, ‘I’m done. I want out.’ What do you know? You’re three weeks in. You’ve got a quarterback who actually doing a pretty decent job.”

“I would stick it out. I want to see what you’re made of. Everybody wants to jump off the ship. ‘I want to jump on the good team.’ What’s the point of that? Aren’t you supposed to show me that you’re worth your money? Not everybody else?

“I get it. You want to be on a good team. You want to get away from coaches. But you can’t make distractions because then everyone looks at it and goes, ‘Do I want to add that to my locker room?”

“We have a fabulous thing going on right now. We’re 3-0. We’re going into a bye week. Yeah, we’re in a tough situation with some players. But do we really want to give up the continuity on this team? Do I give up the chemistry of this team?

“I’ve got these guys playing lights out right now. Do I want to possibly throw that down the drain to bring in a good player?
