September 2, 2019 The situation with Gordon, star running back for the Chargers, is reminiscent of the offseason social media saga involving one Antonio Brown, now the frostbitten wide receiver for the Raiders.
Over the weekend, the Chargers brass announced that they
wouldn’t talk contract extensions with Gordon until after the season and have given his reps
permission to seek a trade. On cut day, the 49ers put Jerick McKinnon, the top running back on the depth chart, on injured reserve. Even with McKinnon sidelined for a second season in a row, the Niners still have Tevin Coleman, Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert in the running back's room.
