Richard Sherman, one of the captains of the 49ers, has made a major assist for young football players in his hometown, Compton.

Sherman has donated $5,000 to the Hub City football team, a 6-and-under club that has earned an invite to the National Youth Championship in Florida.
For his efforts, he was named the Week 11 NFLPA Community MVP.
