In the wake of the 49ers’ 31-17 Week 1 win in Tampa Bay, which featured a pick-6 (and an all around impressive afternoon for Richard Sherman), the veteran cornerback had a message for all his detractors and critics.

"As you listen around and you hear people writing you off, you just hope they keep writing you off,” Sherman told reporters. “I hope they're also writing their wills because I'm at your neck. I'm at everybody's neck this year."

Last year, Sherman’s first season since ruptured his Achilles, marked the first time he’d played a NFL slate without recording an interception. It took him less than three quarters of football to make sure there'd be no repeat of that in 2019.

Sherman’s pick, one of three dished out by Jameis Winston on the day, ended with the veteran corner running 31 yards into the end zone.
