The 49ers will be without the services of Tevin Coleman for Week 2 in Cincinnati, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on a Monday afternoon conference call.

"It's a high-ankle sprain, so I'm pretty sure he's not going to be around this week, and we'll take it week from week after that," Shanahan told reporters, adding that Coleman is not an IR candidate.

Before exiting Sunday’s 31-17 season-opening win in Tampa Bay, Coleman rushed six times for 23 yards, while also catching two passes for 33 yards.

Shanahan detailed that Coleman actually hurt himself on the opening play of the game.

"I think they landed on his ankle, and then it just got worse as the game went," Shanahan said. "He tried to battle through it throughout the second quarter, and I think he was done at halftime, if I remember correctly."

With Coleman joining Jerick McKinnon in the trainer's room, Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert now top the running back depth chart.
