The Giants cut a trio of players on Thursday morning, officially setting their Opening Day roster.
Outfielder Mac Williamson, utility man Alen Hanson and catcher Tom Murphy were all designated for assignment, per NBC Sports Bay Area's
Alex Pavlovic. While the DFA'ing of Hanson and Murphy has been widely expected, the desicion to clip Williamson, who spent much of the spring as the favorite to start in left, is more surprising.
