Trent Williams, the star left tackle who will be stepping in for Joe Staley in Santa Clara, is already fielding questions about his long-term future with his new club.
“I think that was part of the first conversation,” Williams said on Joe, Lo & Dibs on Friday morning. “This isn’t just a one-year rental.”
“They didn’t look at it as a one-year rental,” Williams added. “But you know, getting things done in the crunch time, we just had to get it done first.”

“I don’t really foresee leaving.”
“But, this business is a business. I have one year left and I’m gonna do my best to just make my resurgence as one of the best tackles in the game. And, if I can do that, I know the rest will just take care of itself."
