Jason Longshore joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the red hot United, the match against the Red Bulls and more.

Jason said Frank de Boer has taken the defense to another level.

“He fits into the role really well.” Longshore said “I thought some of the missed connections on passes boiled down to only have a couple of practice sessions with the team, I thought it was a good solid start from Justin Meram, and he gave them good minutes when they really needed it.”

When asked about Breck Shea’s performance against Vancouver being his best this season.

“I’ll agree with that.” Longshore said “I don’t think Breck Shea has had the struggles that people want to put on him, he’s given you more minutes in more matches than you expected him to give you, he’s done everything you ask. One thing I like about him is late in a match you can move him into a left wing role when you’re trying to close out a match and he can give you an extra defender.”

Jason told the guys Brad Guzan is one of the best Goalkeepers in the MLS.

“I think he’s definitely in the top 3. Brad Guzan is such a solid goalkeeper in this league, he made two saves in that match and stepped up when they needed him to, his ability to distribute when the ball is at his feet or in his hands, he’s easily one of the 3 best goalkeepers in this league.”
