2021 NBA mock draft: Post-trade deadline lottery picks
The trade deadline has passed, and while the indirect effect on the draft order will obviously come into focus in the coming months — which teams can move up/down the draft board, for instance — there's also an immediate impact.
In acquiring All-Star center Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic, the Chicago Bulls surrendered their 2021 first-round pick (top-four protected), giving the Magic a reasonable chance at selecting two players in the lottery. However, should the effects of the Vucevic trade start to show right away, that pick — which currently sits at No. 11 overall — could very well become less valuable if Chicago start to creep up the standings.
However, we're using the current standings (as of Thursday, March 25) to dictate the order of our mock draft. And what better time to do so, with the Sweet 16 right ahead of us and several top-tier draft prospects — including names like Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs and Scottie Barnes — still in the tournament. Watch them closely the rest of the way and witness the next wave of NBA stardom.
On the other hand, some top names like Cade Cunningham and Jalen Johnson were eliminated or were never in the tournament to begin with, so YouTube highlights will have to suffice if you missed them. In addition to college stars, this year's lottery will almost certainly include NBA G-League names and international presences, and all of the above are featured in the following list of NBA mock draft lottery picks.
