Four-time NBA champion Andre Iguodala is calling it a career after 19 NBA seasons.

Iguodala made the announcement to Andscape’s Marc J. Spears on Friday morning.

"It's just the right time, Iguodala told Spears. "Time started to get limited for me and I didn't want to put anything in the back seat. I didn't want to have to try to delegate time anymore. Especially with on the court, off the court with family. A lot.

"You want to play at a high level. But then family is a lot. My son is 16 and then two girls. So, [I'm] looking forward to seeing them grow up in those important years."

Iguodala joined the Warriors in 2013 as a starter but then moved to the bench when Steve Kerr took over as head coach during the 2014-15 season, a move that helped propel the Warriors to an NBA title, and Iguodala to the 2015 NBA Finals MVP award.

Iguodala remained with the Warriors for six seasons and helped Golden State reach five straight Finals, winning three championships before being traded to Memphis in the summer of 2019. While rarely starting, Iguodala became a key cog in the Warriors "death lineup" and "Hamptons Five" small ball groups which included Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and either Harrison Barnes or Kevin Durant.

Iguodala returned to the Warriors in 2021 and helped them to an 18-2 start while only appearing in 31 games and then took on more of a pseudo coaching role as the Warriors won their fourth championship in eight seasons.
