Anthony Slater discusses Jonathan Kuminga return timeline

The Warriors are getting Jonathan Kuminga back soon, but the question remains how soon. Steve Kerr said Thursday on Willard and Dibs that Kuminga is still a "ways off," but is that actually the case?

The Athletic's Anthony Slater joined the Morning Roast Friday and broke down how he sees Kuminga's likely return timeline.

"I think that was termed in a scarier way than in reality by Steve," Slater said. "My sense is maybe early road trip coming up. This is more educated guessing, speculation, but it's coming. They got to get him in a scrimmage. That'll come pretty soon. Post-All-Star break, it had become the timing on what has been a really bad ankle sprain. We'll see. He's got to get through the scrimmaging. And maybe that's why Steve's using some of the cautious language. But I don't think we're that far away from a Jonathan Kuminga return.

"I'm not giving a target date. They're not given a target date. But yeah, like I would say in the next couple weeks, I would be surprised if we don't see him."
