The Golden State Warriors have a newly-minted member of the All-Rookie First Team. Brandin Podziemski was a revelation for the Warriors last season, operating in a major role in the backcourt.
Podziemski joined Willard and Dibs Tuesday to discuss his season and his outlook going forward.
He's not surprised about how well he played. He recalled telling NBA teams at the Combine that when they did a re-draft, Podziemski would be in the top five. His award cemented that.
He said his next goal is winning Most Improved Player, then becoming an All-Star and working to become the face of a franchise. But Podziemski's focus is on making and succeeding in the playoffs. He made a strong statement about his confidence in being back there.
"I think we're very close [to contention]," Podziemski said. "... I expect myself to never not make the playoffs again in my career."
