The number one question surrounding the Golden State Warriors at their season-opening media day was whether newly acquired Chris Paul would be okay coming off the bench.
Head coach Steve Kerr said last week that he believed his team to have “six starters” and that they’d figure out the best role for Paul during training camp.
Today, the 12-time All-Star hinted that he would accept coming off the bench when he referenced that he didn’t start for the USA Olympic team in 2008 and added, ‘Anyone who knows me knows that I’m all about winning. Whatever I can do to help the team win.”
Paul has never come off the bench in an NBA game during his 18-year NBA career spanning 1,214 regular season games. Draymond Green took a diplomatic approach when asked his thoughts on the matter saying, “We did have the best starting lineup in the league, you can't ignore that. Yet, you can't ignore that Chris Paul is Chris Paul."
Draymond was also thankful he doesn't have to make a final call.
"Once you take that into account, I'm a basketball player and not a coach, so it is not my job to figure it out."
