'What I tweet will not determine who wins rookie of the year' — Draymond responds to Guru's criticism

Draymond Green joined Steiny, Guru & Dibs on Wednesday and the Warriors star addressed all sorts of topics, including the recent critiques of one Daryle "The Guru" Johnson.

Long story short, Gu was none too pleased that Green recently tweeted about LaMelo Ball, the rookie rival of James Wiseman, after a tough Warriors loss.

"I tweet about Wiseman," Green began. "I talk about Wiseman probably more than anybody else. I am a fan of the game of basketball. What I tweet will not determine who wins rookie of the year. What James Wiseman or LaMelo Ball do on the floor will determine rookie of the year.

A known fan of Ball, however, Green was quick to point out what is so special about the No. 3 overall pick.

"I personally think LaMelo Ball is going to be a stud in this league for a long time. He's going to be a hell of a point guard. I think he's going to be a hell of a cornerstone for that franchise."

That said, Green was also adamant that he is a strong believer in the franchise's decision to select Wiseman with the No. 2 overall selection, and why his praise of other young players such as ball doesn't contradict that stance.

"And so, in saying that, you’re entitled to your opinion and I’m not mad at you for your opinion at all. I actually understand your point of view. I disagree with your point of view. But I definitely understand your point of view and I think if there’s anyone who knows me, or watches me, me knows my love and support for James Wiseman, and that won't change. But as a steward of the game, I think it's also important that we support other young guys as well, and not just the young guys on this team. What my assistant coach told me as a rookie is Dray, when you leave this game you've gotta leave in a better place than you found it. That's what you owe this game, and I take that to heart, and try to make sure I do that."
