Hear what Dub Nation has to say about the Warriors' 6-1 start, vibe at Chase Center

SAN FRANCISCO — Amid a franchise-record eight-game homestand, the Golden State Warriors (6-1) have looked comfortable inside the luxurious Chase Center.

The waterfront acropolis has quickly become an excellent venue to observe the Grade ‘A’ entertainment that is the Dubs.

During the Warriors’ 114-92 win on Wednesday against Charlotte, we spoke to fans to get their take on the vibe at Chase Center. Here’s what they had to say:

What was your favorite part of the Charlotte game tonight?

Laurie, Santa Clara

Loved the energy, even after the slow start. Jordan Poole carried us through that first half and I think he’s going to be special. Always love seeing [Steph] Curry doing well, I thought he’d figure it out in the second half but was still impressed that the Warriors won without him having a big night.

Amo, San Francisco

It wasn’t a game I was expecting. [Gary Payton II] man! I thought he stepped up and drew the best out of the team who needed a jolt. I like the way this team rotates and moves the ball. Previously we’d slacked off a little there in the third quarter, but that flipped tonight, which was a great sign moving forward.

Dianne, San Bruno

The way Jordan Poole was shooting tonight was fantastic, especially because he’d struggled coming into the game. Also, there were a lot more people getting INTO the game than I expected, compared to previous games. It made the night a lot of fun and I think it helped energize the team a bit after struggling early.

What was your experience like at the Chase Center?

Christine, San Francisco

It’s my first time here and I was highly impressed. It feels like everyone, in general, is excited to be back. The new arena, new atmosphere, it all is bringing out the best in Warriors fans.

Jesse, Fairfield

It’s probably my fifth or sixth time here at the Chase Center. I love how seamless it is into the city. It blends right in as if it was another building and it’s creating a culture in the Bay Area that we need.

Abu, New York City

It's beautiful. Awesome and easy for me to get into. I’ve been to Madison Square Garden and this place feels similar, it’s close. I’m a Lakers fan and saw them play the Knicks at the Garden, when [the Lakers] had Kobe. Curry gives me that feeling of watching him in this place.

What did you think of the new City Edition Jerseys?

Jesse, Fairfield

To be honest, I wasn’t sure how they were going to work in person. Watching them play though, I can say the new unis are NICE. Glad, also, the Dubs are rocking them at home. Maybe it's because of how much they were in transition tonight, but the black and yellow was like a cool flash.

Dianne, San Bruno

I wasn’t sure about them at first, because they looked so different than usual. After seeing them, I don’t think they could go wrong with any pattern. I also like the subliminal references to past teams and paying homage to the history.

Amo, San Francisco

I love the City Edition jerseys. The black with the gold looks super crisp and the lightning bolt down the side really draws your eye. I didn’t know they were wearing them tonight, but it was a nice surprise.

What are you most excited about for the Warriors season?

Jesse, Fairfield

Love the youth movement with Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and James Wiseman. It feels like there is so much potential coming from the youth with the core. I think this team -- even after Klay [Thompson], Draymond [Green] and Curry leave -- could be good for a long time.

Amo, San Francisco

I was looking forward so much to this season that I became a season-ticket holder. Everyone is just waiting for Klay to come back and then I think they’ll explode. The fact they’ve done so well already is a plus, but I cannot wait to see what the team plays like at full strength.

Abu, New York City

I’m a LeBron James fan that also loves Stephen Curry. I just want to see him continue to perform at the MVP level he’s been at. When he’s on, it’s good for basketball.

How was the atmosphere in comparison to previous Warriors games you’ve attended?

Arlo, Pinole

My last Warriors game was at Oracle Arena in Oakland. Comparing the two, I love the design of Chase Center since I’m a civil engineer. It’s spacious despite how many people get in there. The atmosphere felt “Roaracle” -ish, got wild and loud in there tonight.

Amo, San Francisco

In the last few games, the energy was getting back up there. We (as fans) don’t always need to be behind the team when they’re on a winning streak, it’s also our jobs to bring them up when they’re slumping. That changed over the past couple of home games and I think that helped them separate when the Hornets started to come back.

Christopher, San Francisco

They got the best qualities of the old place as much as they could and tried to bring it over. It was obviously going to be difficult, but I think it works. It seems like a lot of fans from the East Bay still come to games and bring that electricity that Oracle used to have.
