Giannis Antetokounmpo smiles when asked if he'd join Warriors

Without saying anything, Giannis said a whole lot.

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo recently did an Instagram Live Q&A with fans and a quick exchange about the Warriors has caught the attention of Dub Nation.

“Please come to the Warriors,” Giannis said, reading a question off his phone. “Somebody said, ‘Please come to the Warriors.’ Hey. Hey. Hey man.”

Look at that big ol’ smile. Is this the beginning of Kevin Durant Part 2? The Warriors adding a superstar at the height of his powers?

It’s only a pipe dream for now, but so was the thought of adding KD.

For the hell of it, let’s fire up the trade machine, shall we? According to Spotrac, the salaries would match up if the Warriors did a 3-for-1 deal with Jordan Poole ($31.1 million), Jonathan Kuminga ($6.0 million) and Moses Moody ($3.9 million) for Giannis ($45.6 million).

The Warriors would be sending about $41 million total to the Bucks in this hypothetical trade, so Golden State would be adding another $4.6 million chunk to its skyrocketing salary (plus all the luxury tax penalties). But this is a generational player like Giannis we’re talking about, at the age of 28. Throw in some future first-rounders and the Dubs might have a deal.

Giannis already brought Milwaukee a championship in 2021 and the team recently fired coach Mike Budenholzer. Maybe a reboot is in effect? Maybe Poole could thrive in his hometown of Milwaukee?

It’s just speculation from bored sports fans and media members, but Giannis sure looks intrigued about the idea of teaming up with Stephen Curry. If anything, it’s fun to think about the Dubs Dynasty getting a new injection of stardom.
