The Warriors and the NBA at-large received some roster relief Monday as COVID-19 continues to run rampant league-wide. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA has reduced the required quarantine for players on health and safety protocols to six days, down from the previous requirement of 10 days. Woj also reported that players can leave protocols with two negative tests 24 hours apart.
This report has immediate ramifications on the Warriors’ roster, as they had five players in the NBA’s health and safety protocols as of Monday morning: Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee and Moses Moody.
The day players are placed in protocols is considered “Day 0”, meaning the earliest they could return is a “Day 7” following the six-day quarantine. Here are the updated “Day 7” timelines for the Warriors in health and safety protocols.
Jordan Poole
Day 0 - Dec. 17
Day 7 - Dec. 24 (potentially eligible to return now)
Andrew Wiggins
Day 0 - Dec. 19
Day 7 - Dec. 26 (potentially eligible to return now)
Damion Lee
Day 0 - Dec. 22
Day 7 - Dec. 29
Moses Moody
Day 0 - Dec. 24
Day 7 - Dec. 31
Draymond Green

This is an unprecedented situation with a lot of moving parts. The Warriors are set to address the media on Monday evening and could provide more clarity to the situation, but it appears that Poole and Wiggins would potentially be available to return for Tuesday’s home game against the Denver Nuggets. The updated timeline also means Lee could possibly return by Thursday’s road matchup against the Nuggets. Moody’s first potential game back would be Jan. 1 against the Utah Jazz and Green’s potential return could come Jan. 3 against the Miami Heat.
Since Poole was placed into protocols, the Warriors have trudged along with a 4-1 record while earning impressive wins against the Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns.
