While the Warriors have been resting and recuperating since last Thursday, the Celtics are just three days removed from finishing a grueling seven-game series against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Not to mention a cross-country travel day mixed in.
NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dorell Wright joined 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast” Wednesday to break down the Warriors-Celtics matchup in the NBA Finals, and how Golden State can counteract Boston’s physical approach.
“I think the Warriors do a good job of wearing any team down. You can be as physical as you want to, but the cardio and the tip-top shape these guys are in allows the Warriors to beat teams,” Wright told Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky. “When you see Steph Curry, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, these guys running off screens and moving without the basketball, wearing these teams down. You can’t be that physical with them because you’re gonna be in foul trouble, they’re gonna be going by you, gonna make you defend for 24 seconds. I think it’s gonna be hard on (the Celtics) to be any type of physical.”
