Draymond Green continues to inch closer to a return to action from his sprained left ankle. That return will not happen in the Warriors second game of the season Friday night in Sacramento.
"No, he won't play Friday night. I'd be shocked. He went through a scrimmage today and is really making strides," Kerr told Willard and Dibs during his weekly appearance with the guys. "Maybe on the road trip at some point."
The Warriors will play at Houston and New Orleans after the game in Sacramento on Friday before retuning home to face the Kings next Wednesday. The Dubs are set to begin a stretch of seven of the next eight away from Chase Center.
Among the other topics Kerr discussed included Chris Paul's Dubs debut.
"He's so good. He's in control of every possession. He's got such a great feel for what's happening on the floor. I'm excited because he's going to give us a different dimension that frankly we needed at this particular time in our run."
Kerr also appreciated the reception that Kevin Durant received in his first game at Chase Center with fans since leaving the Warriors in 2019.
"Loved the ovation. Our fans get it. We have such great basketball fans here who know the game and understand exactly what Kevin meant to us."
And of course the weekly question about his contract status as he now coaches in the final year of his deal.
"I plan on being here for the next few years and I hope that's the case buy we'll see just how it plays out."
