Klay Thompson’s jersey collection is growing by the day.
Last week, the Warriors made him a No. 77 Thompson jersey after he was left off the 76-man (there was a tie) NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.
This week, he’s been rocking a custom No. 77 Jackie Moon jersey in practice, an ode to Will Ferrell’s character in the 2008 comedy “Semi-Pro”. During Friday’s session at the team facility in San Francisco, Thompson looked spry while wearing the Moon jersey and doing some individual work.
For Thursday’s shootaround at Chase Center, Thompson also wore the Moon jersey. It dates back to his record-setting performance on Oct. 29, 2018, when he buried an NBA-record 14 3-pointers and told reporters afterwards, he “looked like Jackie Moon out there,” while rocking the headband.
Friday actually marked the three-year anniversary for Klay’s Jackie Moon game.
Thompson appears to be on track for a return from his Achilles injury by January. Dub Nation can’t wait to have him back.
