Mic'd up Draymond Green defends Dub Nation to Charles Barkley during warmups

Draymond Green keeps preaching about being part of “The new media” and he gave fans some more intimate access on Friday night before the Warriors hosted the Dallas Mavericks for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

Aside from his duties as a forward for the Warriors, Draymond also double dips as a player-broadcaster for TNT. During “Inside the NBA’s” pregame coverage, Draymond was mic’d up as he took shots and got loose on the floor.

Charles Barkley has been leaning into his role as a heel in San Francisco after comparing the city to hell and unleashing an NSFW response to heckling fans after Game 1. Of course Draymond and Chuck had to go back-and-forth about Barkley having no championships and Draymond defending Warriors fans.

Chuck: “Dray – why are you shooting the ball in warmups and you never shoot it in the game?”

Draymond: “I shoot it when I have to, Chuck. “I shoot it when I have to when I have to win championships. Also, Chuck, you’re not going to keep going at our fans.

Chuck: “Let me tell you. I’m gonna keep going at these fans, I promise you that. They’re gonna get all the smoke you want, my brother.”

Draymond: “They got more rings than you, Chuck.”

Barkley: I know they do, but they gotta go back to their life. I’m gonna go home and be Charles Barkley. I’m gonna feel pretty good about my life.”

Draymond: “You got a pretty good life. I want your life, too, Chuck.”

Barkley: “Thank you, brother."

This isn’t the first time this week the co-workers have had some friendly banter. During his media session on Thursday, Draymond said he wants to win another championship to bring back to the panel at TNT that also includes fellow NBA champions Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Dwyane Wade.

Trash talk aside, this was a cool inside look from TNT and Draymond heading into a pivotal Game 2.
