It’s been nearly two months since Draymond Green has played in a game for the Warriors.
In the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show, which was released Wednesday but recorded Monday, Green discussed his comeback from a disc issue in his back. Since he recorded the podcast, Draymond took part in a 3-on-3 scrimmage in the Dallas area as the Warriors prepared for Thursday night’s 5:30 p.m. PT matchup against the Mavericks, which you can hear on 95.7 The Game.
“That is a step for me in the right direction that I am thankful and happy about,” Green said of returning to practice. “Now it’s just continuing to ramp up. Continuing to get my conditioning back, continuing to get my feel back and most importantly continuing to regain all of my explosiveness, with which I am very pleased with where it is today.”
You can check out Green’s update at the 1:50 mark below:
Warriors fans are probably used to hearing this type of health update (especially the ‘ramp up’ part), after similar dispatches have been sent out with the rehabs of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman.
Green could probably help cure a lot of Golden State’s current problems – playmaking and direction on offense, in-game adjustments on defense, intensity and overall leadership. Warriors coach Steve Kerr told 95.7 The Game’s “Damon & Ratto” having Green back in Wednesday’s practice brought another edge.
“We miss the bravado,” Kerr said.

Green said he has used his rehab to zero in on certain workouts and gym routines you often don’t have the time for in the middle of a season. Draymond doesn’t skip leg day.
“As someone, historically – and it’s a hereditary thing – has pretty skinny calves, my calves have grown so I’m very happy about that,” Green said. “Because that was something I used to be a little self conscious about as a little kid, like, ‘Oh, man, you got no calf muscles.' So I got a calf muscle now. I’m excited about that. Take that one to the bank.”
