Report: SF Department of Health rejects Warriors' plan for half capacity at Chase Center

Club had built proposal on the back of ambitious testing regiment

The San Francisco Public Health Department has shut down the Warriors' plan to have 50 percent capacity at Chase Center for the upcoming season, according to a report from Trisha Thadani and Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The city is still open to working with the club to bring fans to Chase. Under the initial proposal, the Warriors had aimed to have the gym half full, about 9,000 fans per game, thanks to a robust rapid testing system.

That plan, which owner Joe Lacob said the team had been working on since the NBA shut down on March 11, would have cost the team $30 million.
