Steph Curry was in a great mood Thursday afternoon, and why not? He was romping around with fans at the Edgewood Golf Course in Lake Tahoe during his practice round ahead of this weekend’s American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament.
Steph loves golf, but it also doesn’t hurt to have a fourth championship. Kirsten Moran of 95.7 The Game and Nevada Sports Net shared video of Steph’s meeting with reporters on Thursday at Edgewood.
“This is amazing, the amount of attention and awareness and the fans out here, the support, the energy,” Curry said. “Obviously coming off the pandemic and getting full crowds in here. Like you said, the championship glow that I'm coming in with, it's special. That’s why I look forward to this week so much.”
Dub Nation isn’t far away, as many Bay Area residents often flock up to Tahoe every summer for the A-list celebrity golf tourney. Curry was showered with MVP chants after winning his first career Finals MVP last month and he made a fan do 30 pushups for an autograph. Andre Iguodala was also spotted at Thursday’s practice round.
Steph will be teeing off with his dad, Dell, and brother, Seth, at 9:50 a.m. PT on Friday. Iguodala has been paired with Kyle Lowry and Vince Carter to tee off at 9:16 a.m. PT on Friday. You can view the full list of Friday’s groups at americancenturychampionship.com.
