The Dubs were hitting dingers instead of dunking at Chase Center on Wednesday.
Golden State is set to host the Indiana Pacers Thursday night at 7 p.m. PT. You can hear the action on 95.7 The Game:
After playing 14 of their previous 21 games on the road, with no more than two consecutive home games mixed in, the Warriors are feeling the travel miles. Coach Steve Kerr has repeatedly mentioned how these are the “dog days” of the NBA season before the All-Star break and the second-half playoff push.
Instead of practicing Wednesday, the Warriors held a home run derby on their home floor using tennis balls.
“Everyone’s tired from all the travel the last month or so,” Kerr told reporters Thursday. “Just felt like a good day to unwind and do something fun.”
It sounds like the Splash Brothers channeled their inner Bash Brothers – A’s legends Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco.
“You’re going to be shocked, but Steph and Klay were both excellent,” Kerr said.

So, who were the worst batters?
“Not going to comment on that,” Kerr said.
Perhaps it's no surprise that Thompson looks good at baseball. Check out the bomb he hit at the 17-second mark in the video above. Thompson’s brother, Trayce, hit four homers in 15 games with the Chicago Cubs as an outfielder this past season and has been floating around MLB since 2015. Klay’s other brother, Mychel, was a big power threat Wednesday, according to Kerr.
But, as Kerr conceded with a laugh, “Not everybody played baseball growing up.”
