Steph Curry narrates emotional Klay Thompson tribute video

The countdown to Klay Day is on, with all signs pointing to a Sunday return for beloved Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson.

He hasn’t lined up with his Splash Brother Steph Curry in an NBA contest since Game 6 of the 2019 Finals, when he tore his ACL coming down on a slam dunk attempt. After enduring a torn Achilles in November 2020 and working his way back, Thompson’s two-and-a-half year hiatus appears to be on the verge of ending.

ESPN’s Malika Andrews, an Oakland native, shared an emotional Thompson tribute video Thursday narrated by Curry.

“What would you do if the thing you loved the most was taken away for two-and-a-half years?” Curry says to begin the video.

Throughout the three-minute piece, Curry describes Thompson’s grueling comeback, how he became Captain Klay over the past couple of years, and how excited he is to see Thompson back in action.

“All the moments, the highs and lows, have brought him to this point,” Curry said. “He’s worked too hard and sacrificed too much not to cross the finish line.”

The entire video is definitely worth a watch if you’re a Dubs fan.
