If Steph Curry had his way, he’d be basking the championship glow of his fifth ring this summer.
Alas, the Warriors’ second-round exit cut short their 2022-23 season and started his offseason early. The second weekend in July is always a special time for him, though, as he gets to tee off with his brother, Seth, and dad, Dell, at the American Century Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe.
During Friday’s first round of action, Steph drained a long putt and punctuated it with his patented no-look celebration.
Classic Steph.
Curry has never won the event but is in solid position after Day 1, as his 27 score (modified stableford scoring) is tops on the leaderboard.
Steph has been having fun at the event, showing off his long-distance shot and even pouring out some free shots of his new Gentleman’s Cut Kentucky Bourbon Whisky to some lucky fans.
Curry needs to finish strong to fend off top contenders like former Sharks star Joe Pavelski, who is currently second in the standings with a score of 23. The tournament continues on Saturday and wraps up with a final round on Sunday.
