Stephen Curry and the Warriors will be seeing an old friend when the club opens the season against Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors face of the franchise is thrilled that his old running mate is on the mend after a torn Achilles wiped out his 2019-20 season.

“I’m just happy that we can talk about KD being healthy and that the opportunity for that to happen is there,” Curry said on Damon, Ratto & Kolsky on 95.7 The Game on Wednesday.

“It’s going to be fun,” Curry continued. “You think about it from an NBA perspective, like, obviously, there’s a lot of storylines there and there’s a lot of excitement… The list of guys that were hurt last year, too, and coming back? It’s pretty special, man. A good time to be an NBA fan all the way around. So, happy to be back on the floor, being a part of that.”

Curry, who’s in the fourth season of five-year $201 million supermax extension that he inked in 201, also swept aside any concern he could be departing in the not-too-distant future.

“I don’t plan on switching jerseys anytime soon,” Curry declared.

Curry is currently eligible to sign a three-year, $156 million pact that would start in 2022-23. The sides would need to reach an agreement by Dec. 21. The guard added that neither he nor the club is feeling any pressure regarding that upcoming deadline.
