Steve Kerr on Draymond Green: 'He's the best defender in the world'

Draymond Green is one of the more accomplished defensive players of his generation.

Green's made six NBA All-Defensive teams, four times on the first team. He was Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, when he led the NBA in steals.

He's been able to guard any position at an elite level for most of his career. But at age 35, could he still be considered the best defensive player in the world? Warriors head coach Steve Kerr says so.

Kerr joins Willard and Dibs to react to the Warriors' win over the Bucks without Steph Curry; to discuss Green's defense; Jonathan Kuminga's first four games back from injury, and more.

"I think he's the best defender in the world and I realize how good (Victor) Wembanyama is, how good (Rudy) Gobert is, and others," Kerr said. "But Draymond said it himself. Ask the other coaches around the league who they don't want to face and I have personally asked other coaches around the league, my friends. Trust me, there's so much respect for Draymond around the league, amongst the coaches. They see the versatility in his defense.

"These other guys are good defenders. I don't think any of them can do everything: protect the rim, guard pick-and-roll out at half-court, blow up stuff from the weakside. Draymond, he's a defensive genius. He's also a competitive freak of nature."
