The Warriors are looking to bounce back from what was, by their standards, a disappointing 2022-23 season. It all began with media day on Monday at Chase Center in San Francisco. Here are the top 10 must-know things from today's three-and-a-half-hour session involving 15 players.
1. What do the Warriors do in the starting lineup? Chris Paul intimated he would be okay coming off the bench while Draymond Green admitted it’s a tricky decision because the Dubs had the best starting lineup (via plus/minus) in the NBA.
2. Draymond Green’s ankle injury is “improving fast”. The Warriors said he will be officially reevaluated in two weeks. Green stepped on the foot of Jonathan Kuminga last week playing pickup.
3. Everyone is still getting used to Chris Paul in a Warriors uniform from Chris Paul himself to Steph Curry to Klay Thompson.
4. A Klay Thompson contract extension could be on the horizon before the start of the season but even if it doesn’t happen Klay Thompson appears to be in a good place.
5. It sure sounds like Steph Curry is going to be playing in the 2024 Paris Olympics for Team USA.
6. Andrew Wiggins is primed for a season more like two years ago when he was an all-star than last season when he missed 45 games.
7. The Warriors are embracing having two players that love to be hated by opponents.
8. Stephen Curry remains a Warrior for life and is loving every minute of it as he enters his 15th season in the Bay.
9. Klay Thompson has been playing pickup and is in a much better head space than he was at this time last year.
10. Chris Paul discussed the offseason workouts involving his new teammates and including the young guys as the Warriors attempt to fix their culture issues from last season while at the same time welcoming someone to the team who has been a primary villain for a long time.
