On Monday night, Dub Nation cashed its check from Trysta Krick.
Audacy’s NBA “Heat Check” podcast host called out Warriors fans and media in August for being “delusional”, when “Light Years” podcast host Andy Liu predicted Golden State would start the year with a 9-1 record. With Monday’s Steph Curry-driven 127-113 win over the Houston Rockets, the Warriors hit Liu’s prediction right on the money.
Following a spirited couple of days of banter with Dub Nation on Twitter, Krick joined 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast” with Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky on Tuesday to discuss her infamous TikTok. Listen to the full interview above.
Shasky gave Krick the opportunity to apologize or double down with another bold Warriors prediction, but she went another route.
“I’m not going to apologize,” Krick said. “What I want to tell Warriors fans and Andy Liu and really anyone who supports Dub Nation: You’re welcome. You’re welcome.
“Without this prediction — maybe we’re seeing the 74-8 Warriors, who knows — but maybe the hot start came from the slander. Maybe that lit a fire under the team.”
Krick also defended her stance a bit more by noting the level of competition the Warriors faced to start the year. Of the 10 teams they’ve faced this year, only three currently have a winning record (Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies).
“The combined record of the teams that the Warriors have beaten is 25-50,” Krick said.

She did give props to Curry and his 50-point performance against the Hawks, though. Looking ahead to the rest of the Warriors season, Krick still has her reservations on whether Golden State is for real.
“If Klay is back at 80 percent, this team is absolutely a contender,” Krick said. “Can I say it right now? No I can’t.”
To which Shasky said, “I’ll say it for you now: They’re a contender. I’ve been watching this team a long time.”
So, Krick didn’t exactly hold her ‘L’ Tuesday, but Bonta and Shasky didn’t let her off the hook easy. Let’s call it a truce.
