Following the Warriors’ 38-point drubbing at the hands of the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, Warriors president of basketball operations/general manager Bob Myers and coach Steve Kerr got dinner to talk shop.

The season is 32 games deep now and Golden State is expected to be without Steph Curry for a few weeks. Losses like Tuesday’s don’t portend well for the short-term or long-term future of the franchise, as the young core got cooked on defense and blown out by 38.

A few hours before the Warriors played the Brooklyn Nets on a back-to-back, Myers joined 95.7 The Game’s “Steiny & Guru” Wednesday to discuss his dinner with Kerr and how the Dubs are dealing with their 15-17 record.

“We gotta find some kind of rhythm,” Myers told hosts Daryle ‘The Guru’ Johnson and Whitey Gleason (filling in for Matt Steinmetz). “That's my job. I went to dinner last night with Steve after the game. We gotta find a path here where we get some consistency. It’s hard to do it when you’re injured, but every team has injuries. To be fair, and be self-critical, we were struggling when we were healthy. That’s my focus. … We gotta try to get this ship right with our team.”

Last season, many fans clamored for Myers and the front office to get frontcourt help at the trade deadline, but the Warriors kept their team intact, weathered some big injuries and made a successful title run. Myers said it’s still too early to determine whether the Warriors will make a move before the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

“I’ve learned the answer to that question evolves throughout the season,” Myers said. “(We'll take) as much time as we can take to evaluate that and get it right – because once you make a deal, it’s done and you can’t go back. ...

“I think we – at some point soon, in the next however many few weeks – will have to decide what is the answer to that question, and what specifically is the answer to that question. I think right now, we can see we can play with a lot of the really good teams. But we’ve also lost to some teams that we think we could beat. Our record’s our record. That’s not something we expected it would be at this point in time.”

Golden State is spending a league-high $359.7 million this season when including luxury taxes. They still have a 15-man roster spot open, so it’d just be a matter of money for owner Joe Lacob this season.

As for his own contract, which reportedly expires at season’s end, Myers said he’s more focused on the team at this time.

“I’m really not worried about that,” Myers said. “I’m focused on our season and that’s my main focus. I’m not worried about me right now.”
