For the first time since 2019, the Warriors are back in the postseason.
Following Sunday’s impressive 128-107 win against the New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State wrapped up the regular season as the Western Conference’s No. 3 seed. The NBA announced that the Warriors will host the No. 6 seed Denver Nuggets, with Game 1 slated for Saturday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m. PT on ABC. The game can be heard locally on 95.7 The Game, radio home of the Golden State Warriors:

The Warriors lost three of four to the Nuggets, often getting dominated by MVP candidate Nikola Jokic, who is averaging 28 points, 15.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game against Golden State this season. The Warriors’ lone win against the Nuggets came on March 10 in Denver, when they used a 13-0 run to close out the 113-102 victory.
It’s also worth noting that Draymond Green is yet to play against the Nuggets this regular season, as he should help immensely in trying to bottle up Jokic. The Warriors won the lone contest Klay Thompson played against the Nuggets in 2022.
Golden State is expected to offer an update on Steph Curry Monday, but he appears to be on track to return for Game 1. The Warriors will have a high-stakes reintegration act in the first round, but Steph, Draymond and Klay have a decade of chemistry to build on, beyond the 11 minutes they’ve shared the floor together this season.
