Steph Curry is nearing a return.
The Warriors are optimistic that Curry will be back in the lineup at some point during their three-road trip next week, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday.
During his appearance on Steiny and Guru later Wednesday afternoon, Warriors GM Bob Myers said the organization is hopeful that Curry will be able to suit up on the trip, which begins Sunday in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
"That’s the hope. I think the reason why we can’t give you more definitive information is it is kind of predicated on how he feels," Myers said.
Curry has missed the Warriors' last nine games since he injured his leg while driving to the hoop against the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 4. The team is 5-4 over that stretch. In a sign that he was inching closer to returning, he was spotted after Monday’s practice doing individual work at the team facility, practicing one-legged shots off his left foot at one point. He also scrimmaged with the Santa Cruz Warriors on Tuesday.
The team also issued an update about his re-evaluation on Wednesday.
"He is making good progress and has recently increased his on-court workload to include scrimmaging," the statement read. "Curry’s return-to-play will be based on his continued progress and response to full practice and scrimmages after missing nearly a month of game action."
