Warriors provide injury updates on Moses Moody, Gary Payton II

The Warriors offered injury updates on two key wings Monday morning. Both Moses Moody and Gary Payton II have missed time over the last month due to injuries, but are getting closer to returning.

The following comes from the team:

"Warriors guard Moses Moody, who suffered a grade 1 strain of his left calf on January 10 vs. New Orleans and has missed the last three games, was recently re-evaluated. The re-evaluation indicated that Moody is making good progress. He has been cleared to begin individual on-court workouts and will be re-evaluated again in one week.

Warriors guard Gary Payton II, who suffered a grade 2 strain of his left hamstring on January 2 vs. Orlando and has missed the last seven games, was recently re-evaluated. The re-evaluation indicated that Payton is making good progress. He has been cleared to begin light individual on-court workouts and will be re-evaluated again in two weeks."

The updates indicate that neither Moody nor Payton II will return this week, in which the Warriors are slated to face the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday, the Sacramento Kings Thursday, and the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday.

Moody could theoretically return to face the 76ers next Tuesday, but that would seem a stretch.

Payton II, meanwhile, is out for at least the next seven games. The soonest he could return with a two-week timeframe is the Warriors' February 7 matchup with the 76ers, which the team announced Monday will start at 4:30 p.m. PT, not 4:00 p.m., as originally scheduled.
