SAN FRANCISCO -- The Warriors rang in the new season with a ring ceremony Tuesday at Chase Center.
About four months after the Warriors secured the 2022 championship at TD Garden in Boston in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, they received their rings in front of Dub Nation and raised a banner.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers had to wait in the locker room while the Warriors celebrated. Klay Thompson started things off with a short speech and former Golden State fan favorite and current Laker Juan Toscano-Anderson got a loud cheer from the crowd as he was the first one to receive his ring. Steph Curry also wanted to bring awareness to Brittney Griner as she remains incarcerated in Russia on her 32nd birthday for trying to smuggle a weed pen.
