The Warriors have confirmed that Steph Curry suffered a ligament injury in his left foot. The team also announced Friday that their superstar will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
On Thursday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Warriors are hopeful he will be able to return for the first round of the playoffs, which begin on April 16. The fact that the Warriors will re-evaluate Curry in two weeks is a good sign.
Curry injured his foot after Boston Celtics guard rolled up on him diving for a loose ball during Wednesday night’s game at Chase Center.
In 64 games this season, Curry is averaging 25.5 points, 6.3 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 4.5 3-pointers made per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the floor and 38 percent from long distance.
Reporters shared reaction from Warriors coach Steve Kerr on Friday:
As far as a silver lining for Steph’s injury, Kerr said Steph will have a chance to come back “rejuvinated and recharged.” Reminds him of Steph’s tailbone injury last season and the way Steph came back spry.

The Warriors currently have 12 games remaining in the regular season and will play seven of them over the next two weeks before his potential check-up date on April 1. From there, the Warriors would have five games left, against the Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles, Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans.
The timing of high-profile injuries to Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson has been particularly cruel to Warriors fans this year, as the trio has only played five games together in the regular season.
Without Curry, third-year guard Jordan Poole is expected to step up and take up an even bigger role in the Warriors’ offense. He is currently riding an eight-game streak where he’s scored at least 20 points a game, averaging 24.8 ppg in that span.
