There has been plenty of buzz leading up to the Dallas Mavericks-Golden State Warriors Western Conference finals and it appeared as if Luka Doncic was getting his own buzz in before Game 1.
A photo of Doncic sitting at a restaurant table, with who appears to be with Boban Marjanovic, emerged on Wednesday and showed the 23-year-old holding a beer in hand.
The photo was posted at 12:43 p.m. ET, which would be about 9:43 a.m. on the West Coast — pretty early in the morning on gameday to be drinking a beer.
But it appears as if the photo is too good to be true.
A spokesperson for the Mavericks told TMZ Sports that the photo in question was not taken on Wednesday and that Doncic was spending his morning inside the training room to prepare for Steph Curry and the Warriors.
That makes more sense. Plus, the Mavs probably had a morning shootaround which would make it pretty difficult for Doncic to be out and about, let alone drinking.
When the photo was taken is anyone’s guess. But nonetheless, fans absolutely loved the thought of Doncic casually downing some beers prior to taking the court for the Western Conference Finals.
If only it really was from Wednesday and Doncic went off in Game 1 it would really add to his legend.
