Even though he was half the world away in his native Republic of Georgia, Warriors basketball operations consultant Zaza Pachulia still called into 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast: Executive Show” Tuesday for his bi-weekly appearance. Listen to the full interview below:
Monday night’s 7 p.m. local tip in San Francisco meant a 7 a.m. tip in Eurasia, but Pachulia said his body clock hasn’t adjusted yet as he stays in his native country for the holidays for the first time since 1998.
“Jet lag is no joke,” Pachulia said.
Back home, much of Dub Nation is concerned about the recovery of second-year center James Wiseman, who is likely out until 2022 at the earliest as he deals with a meniscus tear from April. Pachulia said he’s still optimistic about Wiseman’s rehab.
“We talk to James about how it’s important to have a big picture,” Pachulia said. “It’s not about winning today, it’s about having a chance to have a career. For that reason, he needs to be very, very smart and make the right decisions.”

While Wiseman’s return still might be a ways off, Klay Thompson is eagerly building up his endurance and getting ready for NBA game action after two-plus seasons missed due to injury. Whenever Thompson does return, Pachulia said he’ll be Klay’s co-captain on the boat commute to Chase Center.
“I promise I’ll do that,” Pachulia said. “I’m so excited for that day, guys. We’ll be ready. We’ll be cheering for him. I’m going to bring my ‘A’ game, my most expensive suit I have.”
