Klay Thompson and Zaza Pachulia have a special relationship dating back to their days as Warriors teammates. So it was no surprise that Zaza started off his bi-weekly appearance Tuesday on 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast: Executive Show” with a birthday shoutout for his boy.
On the eve of his 32nd birthday, Thompson dropped a team-high 21 points and hit a late 3-pointer to help clinch a 110-98 win over Oklahoma City Monday. Pachulia, now a basketball operations consultant for the franchise, said he’s not surprised to see all the success that Thompson’s having. You can listen to the full interview below:
“If anybody thinks that Klay’s full of something, it’s so wrong,” Pachulia told hosts Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky. “This guy’s been talking about [how he] can’t wait to get back to where he was, can’t wait to remind the world who Klay Thompson is. Two years is a long time. People forgot. He was so mad and he was disappointed about not making the [NBA’s] top 75 [anniversary team] and his reaction was very authentic. This is something that people don’t understand, Klay never plays games outside of basketball, the court. Whatever he’s saying, he believes. He has so much confidence. He works so hard. I’m not surprised at all. I think there’s more to come. We’re only going to get better and Klay is going to get better.”
